Mexican Hair Transplants: Your Questions Answered
If you’re reading this, then you’ve spent some time researching hair transplants, and maybe even learning about how Mexico has become a capital of sorts for them. And, if you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably got a lot of questions that need answering.
That’s not surprising. Any medical procedure is a huge undertaking, financially and emotionally. You want to make sure that you’re not only getting your money’s worth, but that you’re also going to be well taken care of. For as many wonderful stories you’ve heard, you’ve also heard as many horror stories.
We’re here to answer those questions and put your mind at ease!
Is It Safe?
Having most medical procedures done in Mexico is completely safe, as long as you do your homework. Make sure that your doctor is accredited by a respectable authority. Ask previous patients how they feel about their results and experience. Don’t rely on one source – find many, and compare and contrast them. Just because one patient had an awful time, it may be related to something that has nothing to do with you. (Example, the procedure and doctor were fine, but their accommodations were awful.)
Treat this like you would any procedure in your home country. Do your homework and weigh the pros and cons. Also, your procedure should not be the first time you meet the doctor.
Will I Really Save Money?
Absolutely! Depending on where you’re coming from, you can see a savings of thousands of pesos compared to where you currently live.
There’s a lot you can do with the money you save. You might put it toward turning your visit into a great vacation for yourself, your spouse, or your whole family. Mexico is full of great tourist destinations that also double for medical tourism.
Will The Results Be Worth The Travel?
Okay, so you know that you’ll save a ton of money with a Tijuana hair transplant. But will the results be worth the travel and uncertainty?
As we said before, make sure you do your homework before booking an appointment, let alone traveling all the way down. Part of your research should include looking at before and after photos, not just on the doctor’s website, but also from patients elsewhere. This will give you a more authentic idea of what you can expect and if it’s worth the effort for you.
Overall, however, a vast majority of patients are happy with their results. Everyone has a different experience, but the results speak for themselves. A full of head that results in more confidence and a great look? That in itself is often enough for most patients who head to Mexico to take advantage of the savings and location.
